Lately I’ve noticed a lot of clothes with crocheted details on. I think it looks super cute, so I’ve been making some of my own.

For this skirt, I crocheted two doilies to use as pockets, and then added a cute crocheted edging to the bottom. The instructions for the pockets are a little long, so I’ve put them in a separate post. In the meantime, here’s the pattern for the crocheted edging.

I used white no.5 crochet thread, and a 2mm crochet hook.

1. Ch4. (2dc, ch2, 3dc) in 4th ch from hook. Turn.
2. Chain 6, sl st in top of ch4 from previous row. Chain another 6. Turn.
3. (3dc, ch2, 3dc) in ch2 space (You’ll be crocheting over the first ch6 from the previous step, while the second ch6 forms a loop along one edge). Turn.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3, until the edging is long enough to go all around the bottom of the skirt.
5. Ch6, sl st to the first dc of the previous row.
6. Working back along the length of the edging, work 6sc into each ch6 loop. Finish off and sew in ends.

Using small stitches and matching thread, hand stitch the edging around the bottom of the skirt.
